Chise had noticed the sky darkening but hadn't realized it would be more than a cold rain. The first streak of lightning and crash of thunder made her look around for a place to hide--

She thought she'd been doing better with storms, since that day, but they were still challenging.

"You're not alone."

Nodding, Chise looked up at Elias. When had he even...?

His embrace was warm and comfortable, and it didn't take long for Chise to relax against him, even as the windows rattled and the wind howled.
