The week had been long and busy and somehow they'd received more applications than ever. It was good for business, and for the town, but it was a lot and much to Jan's surprise, even Alche had been put to work.

But she'd long since left, leaving him and Dwen alone with the dwindling stack of pages. They worked in silence, until finally- Finally-

Jan did not miss Dwen's little smile as he signed off on the last page of paperwork, nor did he miss Dwen opening a drawer and pulling out a bottle.

This week, they'd certainly earned it.
