There were three pages left of his book, which did not surprise Lucifer in the least. Everything was being wrapped up nicely; the author had done a fine job.

But he could not reach the next book he desired, not with Azazel asleep against him. It was rare that Azazel slept this peacefully; Lucifer did not want to wake him.

There were no other books within reach, either. The usual piles had been scattered earlier, not long after Azazel had settled beside him and been quite impressively distracting.

Lucifer had three pages left.

He smiled.

He hadn't minded the distraction.
