Elijah winced at Gai's touch. Apparently he had more tender spots than he realized and there was no sense hiding them.

"Another bruise?" Gai questioned as he drew his hand away. "You could have said something..."

"I didn't know about that one," Elijah admitted as he shifted to press against Gai anyway. "Not the first time."

"You're lucky they aren't worse."

"Because of you and Kazahana." Still, he'd done well and he knew it. They'd all done their part and managed to complete the mission to their client's satisfaction. Now it was time to curl close to Gai... And heal.
