Bael slept.

It slept without knowledge of the passage of time, content to slumber in a world where it was not needed.

Its name was still spoken; it was a symbol, an idol, one false god among many...

Deep and without dreams- what good would dreams do for a machine? -it slept away days, weeks, months, and years.

Decades passed, then centuries, and yet, there, it slept...

Waiting, like in stories, to be woken from that sleep by one deserving-- One who needed-- One who--

Its name was still spoken, even as Bael slept.

And therefore it would someday awaken.
