Rian pushed back his hood and stretched; it was finally, definitely spring. He hadn't minded his winter work in a village's public stables, but now he had other work to do with his trees and little patches scattered across the land.

One day he'd be able to stop wandering, though he wasn't sure he'd actually want to. He liked spring's blossoms and new growth and trimming away the old and dead and unneeded...

He knew one day he'd be able to stop wandering, but that day hadn't quite arrived.

For now, he had sunshine and spring and work to do.
