The lights came up in the theater and Mai and Faye looked at each other.

"I guess it's time to go," Mai said softly.

"The trailer lied," Faye replied.

"There wasn't even anything after the credits."

"They really didn't belong together."

"The soundtrack was okay though."

One usher came through and started picking up discarded drink cups while another began vacuuming spilled popcorn.

The first cleared his throat.

"Sorry..."

Faye let go of Mai's hand, still in the popcorn bucket.

They had things to talk about that weren't the movie.
