"It's been another year..."

Hector nodded as he took one last look at himself in the mirror. He hadn't expected to need this outfit again and again, but here he was.

Here they were.

Gerard's outfit wasn't quite as elaborate as Hector's, nor did he dress it up a bit more each year. But he was ready for the celebration nonetheless.

"Another year together."

Borrowed time, in the strangest possible way. They knew the future, once they left this foreign world. They knew what would happen, eventually...

"Another year together," Hector agreed, grinning, before claiming an early kiss.
