The summer sun was the only halo that Wagnas needed, Rocbouquet thought as she strolled along the beach between the strandline and the tiny remnants of waves barely threatening her toes.

He'd been lured into proper beach attire, though he'd only stayed on the shore so far. That might change, Rocbouquet knew, but she wasn't going to push. She was perfectly capable of splashing around on her own before joining Wagnas on his blanket on the beach's hot sand.

She glanced to where he waited, and it did rather look like he was waiting.

Her splashing could wait as well.
